Another year and another cake to make for my niece Boston's birthday. Every time a birthday rolls around my nieces and nephews clamor with excitement to describe in great detail THE birthday cake. Boston's theme was flamingos, specifically Littlest PetShop flamingos. The only problem is... we had no flamingo.
I created an oober cutsie tableau of bobble headed, big eyed animals having a leisurely day at the lake. Little did Boston know her mother had found a flamingo at the store and we left a perfect little spot on the lake for it. She went to bed super happy with her flamingo-less cake. The next morning she woke to find that the perfect Littlest PetShop flamingo found its way onto her cake!
My cakes are nothing like Cake Boss or my amazing cousin's masterpieces (lilaloa.blogspot.com), but I do enjoy making them and the kids keep coming back for more.

That is really cute amber. I can't even make a cake let alone decorate it... so I'm pretty impressed. You are so creative!
